Story:
A known tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Singampatti village where the Zamindar (nasser) is happily living with his wife (saranya), son Raghu (mithun) and daughter Ponnarasi (yamini). They are well respected by the village. Singaram (vivek) is a good for nothing fellow and his goal is to marry Ponnarasi and become rich by taking her property. He does manage to do that while Raghu goes to Chennai on an IT job and falls for his uncle's (livingston) servant (thenmozhi). Story takes a turn when the Zameendar goes into debts, Singaram doesn't mend his ways. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
